Watching the reaction on a child’s face the first time they see a seed germinate and sprout is priceless. Caregivers of Mother Earth celebrate success with every child our programs touch. We are growing stronger with existing and new partnerships across western Carolinas. Many seeds have been planted as we raise awareness and work collaboratively with other programs.
Expanding in 2024 our ECO Kids Multigenerational Garden Program is back for it's next season. Our first three ECO Kids programs are being created, launched and evaluated for best practice. Our goal is to scale the model to enable many communities to share in collaborative partnerships using this proven recipe for success.
In our summer farm camps, campers will participate in a number of different activities relating to the farm, arts, the environment, and more!

In our first year, 2022, we partnered with farm camps to reach 80 children. Each child received a Caregivers of Mother Earth reusable tote bag with a set of 4 Nature Connections books. On the last day of camp, they were presented a framed certificate declaring each camper as an Official Caregiver of Mother Earth. We had two major events in September, 2022. First was the unanimous decision by the Hendersonville City Council to become the cornerstone Caregivers of Mother Earth City.
The second event was a Community Celebration on September 24th for the entire city to recognize our inaugural class of 80 Official caregivers of Mother Earth. Mayor Barbara Volk read a Proclamation for the children, we then had the children plant a native Moonglow Magnolia before the mayor dedicated a park bench to Caregivers of Mother Earth. We are making memories that will last a lifetime!
Campers will participate in a number of different activities relating to the farm, arts, the environment, and more! The week of camp will culminate in a showcase Friday afternoon where campers will share their creations and learnings with family and friends. Caregivers of Mother Earth is providing 10 scholarships to farm camp. We will also be hosting activities for campers on Wednesday of each camp session.
